An Old Philatelist

A stamp exhibition is now going on in celebration of the 75th founding anniversary of the Workers’ Party of Korea. Displayed at the exhibition are stamps issued by the State Stamp Bureau and thousands of stamps collected by over ten philatelists. Conspicuous is a hammer, sickle and writing brush, symbolic of the emblem of the WPK; Han Il Jung (76 years old) from Pyongyang portrayed them with over 400 stamps he had collected since 1956.

Charm of Stamps

Stamp was invented as a means of payment for post, but with the advent of the IT era it has become one which many people are enthusiastic about collecting.

Small as they are, they show the wisdom and talent of mankind, history and social development, and beautiful nature.

Exhibited in the stamp exhibition held in Pyongyang to mark the 75th founding anniversary of the Workers’ Party of Korea are the stamps that portray the level of civilization of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
